Ititty Bitty

I hope everyone in the US had a great 4th of July. Mine was quiet, just the way we wanted it. A cookout and a lot of stitching. Please excuse the picture. My neighbor is mowing his grass near my patio and I don't want to get dirt on it. It is a fun stitch. The silks are wonderful! The colors are beautiful. The weather is going to be in the 90's this week-end (cooler than most of you ) so I see time in the house with the A/C.I did put this little design in a box that I had. The fabric is a light blue color, not the white that the picture shows. Cheryl and I did some thrifting a couple of weeks ago. I found this darling sewing case for $20.00. I will be painting it when the weather isn't so humid. Haven't decided on the color yet. I love the shelf inside for spools of thread. So cute. The blue frog and the green frog are ceramic. These I found with Cheryl. The one with the pansies, I found in my basement while I was looking for some decorations. I bought this many years ago, while I lived in Georgia, at a craft fair. I put a small pair of scissors in it. I had totally forgotten that I had it. Please excuse the weird format. Blogger wasn't too friendly today. Thanks for all the comments on my last post.   Sammi would like to wish everyone and their pets a very Merry Christmas.   I started this the other day and I must say, that I am not enjoying it. Love the design but the colors are very close in their shades. It was very hard to pick a fabric that will allow all the colors to be seen.   Yesterday I decided to make bread by hand. This is Christmas Stollen . My braiding leaves alot to be desired, but it turned out delicious! It's full of fruit and nuts. I have a bread machine and use it a lot but I really enjoyed the kneading and rising and kneading again. It was very soothing. I will be taking a loaf over to Cheryl's for Christmas Eve. She has a yearly family gathering, which we have been going to for 20 years or so.   This is alittle sampling of the cookies we made on Tuesday. Nantucket and more

It's been a wild couple of weeks in Eastern Massachusetts. The blizzard dumped over 2 feet of snow, left my area without power for 5 days and left a lot of devistation in her wake. I lost many trees in the back yard and two beautiful Christmas type pines in the front. Thankfully none of the trees fell on the house. This past week end we got another 6 inches of snow. I love snow but I have had enough for the year. On to the stitching, which is why we are all here. I went to the framers just before the blizzard and picked up Nantucket. I love this piece.      The frame is beautiful. Reminds me of drift wood. It isn't as blue as the picture would suggest. It's a gray blue color. Goes perfectly with the design. I have had many questions about the color of the house, yes I changed the color. I didn't have 2 of the called for color and changed it to King Mackerel by WDW and instead of the Barrel Cactus I used DMC 927. I like the changes.    Here are three o...

Is It Autumn Yet?

I am so tired of the hot and humid weather. Summer is not my season. I have decided that I need to stitch Fall designs. I had Autumn Alphabet stretched and put in an in and out frame. Love the colors. After Autumn Band sampler was stretched, it also went into an in and out frame. Halloweenies is my favorite of all of these pieces. I just love Paulette's designs. I think that the frame is perfect for the design. Next up is Autumn on Marigold Lane. I think that this will probably be framed. It was a fun stitch that worked up quickly. I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. This was a big BD ..... 60! I wondered if I would feel different with this BD and I am glad to say that I don't. Yeah!! lol. I went to New Hampshire and Vermont with friends for a few days. I was treated like a queen. Stayed in a beautiful B&B, ate some wonderful food, shopped and saw some gorgeous scenery.
