A Finish, Some Framing and a Win.

I picked up Dogwood lace from my framer and I love it. The frame is a cherry color. I would have wanted it wider but this was my only option. You can click on any of the photo's for a larger view. Next up is a small patriotic design by Chessie and Me. I did it on 32 ct mystery fabric using the called for overdyes. The best part is that i had the frame in my stash! I am always so happy when I have a frame that actually fits a piece. The design is only 3.5 by 3.5. I really love the crackle frame. The colors go very well. I won the greatest giveaway from June at Butterfly WingsJune asked what my favorite colors are and I went with pink. She sent a package of wonderful fabric and trims. Pink lace, great bows, beautiful fabric, ribbon and the best little buttons. Thank you June! I feel very blessed. This is my latest project. It's called itty-bittys by Keslyn. I saw this at Celebrations and couldn't resist it. It was designed to be stitched over one on 28ct fabric. I wanted mine a little larger so I am stitching on 36 ct Magnolia fabric over 2. There will be 12 different blocks. It's done with all silks and I was lucky enough to split them with my friend,Phyllis. Before I end this long post I had to share a picture of Stella. This what she looks like when we take our walks. She focuses much better when she has something in her mouth. Fish is better than rocks, leaves, sticks or whatever she finds along the way. What a Great Week!

This past week has been very busy with a limo stitching shop hop, cataract surgery and some wonderful mail! Rubie Owl is coming along nicely. I love everything about this design and have enjoyed every stitch. I won Theresa's giveaway(giraffexing.blogspot.com) and look what I received in the mail today. A beautiful needlebook, scissors, floss, lace and some beeswax. The little scissors are beautiful and I didn't have this pair. I love to use lace in my finishing and will put it to good use. Isn't the fabric just so happy? Behind the felt are two pockets where the scissors and floss were. It is a beautiful and generous giveaway. Thanks Theresa, I love everything. I also won the By The Bays giveaway. Donna was very generous because I really won the Halloween stitch an inch designs but I had already bought Halloween so she sent me the fall ones and the pendent. Baking and Stitching.

  Sammi would like to wish everyone and their pets a very Merry Christmas.   I started this the other day and I must say, that I am not enjoying it. Love the design but the colors are very close in their shades. It was very hard to pick a fabric that will allow all the colors to be seen.   Yesterday I decided to make bread by hand. This is Christmas Stollen . My braiding leaves alot to be desired, but it turned out delicious! It's full of fruit and nuts. I have a bread machine and use it a lot but I really enjoyed the kneading and rising and kneading again. It was very soothing. I will be taking a loaf over to Cheryl's for Christmas Eve. She has a yearly family gathering, which we have been going to for 20 years or so.   This is alittle sampling of the cookies we made on Tuesday. We have sugar cookies, hermits, applesauce cookies, peanut butter kiss cookies and orange brownie bites (which are to die for). I want to wish everyone a wonderful Ch...

Nantucket and more

It's been a wild couple of weeks in Eastern Massachusetts. The blizzard dumped over 2 feet of snow, left my area without power for 5 days and left a lot of devistation in her wake. I lost many trees in the back yard and two beautiful Christmas type pines in the front. Thankfully none of the trees fell on the house. This past week end we got another 6 inches of snow. I love snow but I have had enough for the year. On to the stitching, which is why we are all here. I went to the framers just before the blizzard and picked up Nantucket. I love this piece.      The frame is beautiful. Reminds me of drift wood. It isn't as blue as the picture would suggest. It's a gray blue color. Goes perfectly with the design. I have had many questions about the color of the house, yes I changed the color. I didn't have 2 of the called for color and changed it to King Mackerel by WDW and instead of the Barrel Cactus I used DMC 927. I like the changes.    Here are three o...
