Doing The Happy Dance!

My friends reminded me today during our Wednesday stitching group that I haven't blogged in a while. Time just gets by me during this time of year. Up until today, the weather has been cool. Great weather to work in the yard. Weeding never goes away. On to the happy dance. Dogwood Lace is finished and at the framer. She turned out beautiful. I love the pikish fabric and the baked apple floss. A close up of the middle. I finished July Word Play. It is done on 36 ct pecanbutter fabric by LSL with the suggested floss. So cute. I found this box in my stash when I was putting the craft room together. I think that I have had this box for 15 years. No kidding. It is a little beat up. It was time to do something with it. I found this design that will fit perfectly. The fabric is a very pale blue and the floss is SNC silk called sidewalk chalk. Hope to put it together this week end. Did some baking yesterday. These are bourbon chocolate cupcakes with strawberry butter cream frosting. So good. I will end with with a picture of Stella after our morning walk. What a Great Week!

This past week has been very busy with a limo stitching shop hop, cataract surgery and some wonderful mail! Rubie Owl is coming along nicely. I love everything about this design and have enjoyed every stitch. I won Theresa's giveaway(giraffexing.blogspot.com) and look what I received in the mail today. A beautiful needlebook, scissors, floss, lace and some beeswax. The little scissors are beautiful and I didn't have this pair. I love to use lace in my finishing and will put it to good use. Isn't the fabric just so happy? Behind the felt are two pockets where the scissors and floss were. It is a beautiful and generous giveaway. Thanks Theresa, I love everything. I also won the By The Bays giveaway. Donna was very generous because I really won the Halloween stitch an inch designs but I had already bought Halloween so she sent me the fall ones and the pendent. Baking and Stitching.

  Sammi would like to wish everyone and their pets a very Merry Christmas.   I started this the other day and I must say, that I am not enjoying it. Love the design but the colors are very close in their shades. It was very hard to pick a fabric that will allow all the colors to be seen.   Yesterday I decided to make bread by hand. This is Christmas Stollen . My braiding leaves alot to be desired, but it turned out delicious! It's full of fruit and nuts. I have a bread machine and use it a lot but I really enjoyed the kneading and rising and kneading again. It was very soothing. I will be taking a loaf over to Cheryl's for Christmas Eve. She has a yearly family gathering, which we have been going to for 20 years or so.   This is alittle sampling of the cookies we made on Tuesday. We have sugar cookies, hermits, applesauce cookies, peanut butter kiss cookies and orange brownie bites (which are to die for). I want to wish everyone a wonderful Ch...

Nantucket and more

It's been a wild couple of weeks in Eastern Massachusetts. The blizzard dumped over 2 feet of snow, left my area without power for 5 days and left a lot of devistation in her wake. I lost many trees in the back yard and two beautiful Christmas type pines in the front. Thankfully none of the trees fell on the house. This past week end we got another 6 inches of snow. I love snow but I have had enough for the year. On to the stitching, which is why we are all here. I went to the framers just before the blizzard and picked up Nantucket. I love this piece.      The frame is beautiful. Reminds me of drift wood. It isn't as blue as the picture would suggest. It's a gray blue color. Goes perfectly with the design. I have had many questions about the color of the house, yes I changed the color. I didn't have 2 of the called for color and changed it to King Mackerel by WDW and instead of the Barrel Cactus I used DMC 927. I like the changes.    Here are three o...
