A Finish, Some Framing and a Win.

Image
I picked up Dogwood lace from my framer and I love it. The frame is a cherry color. I would have wanted it wider but this was my only option. You can click on any of the photo's for a larger view. Next up is a small patriotic design by Chessie and Me. I did it on 32 ct mystery fabric using the called for overdyes. The best part is that i had the frame in my stash! I am always so happy when I have a frame that actually fits a piece. The design is only 3.5 by 3.5. I really love the crackle frame. The colors go very well. I won the greatest giveaway from June at Butterfly Wings June asked what my favorite colors are and I went with pink. She sent a package of wonderful fabric and trims. Pink lace, great bows, beautiful fabric, ribbon and the best little buttons. Thank you June! I feel very blessed. This is my latest project. It's called itty-bittys by Keslyn. I saw this at Celebrations and couldn't resist it. It was designed to be stitched over one on 28ct fabric. I wanted ...

Doing The Happy Dance!

Image
My friends reminded me today during our Wednesday stitching group that I haven't blogged in a while. Time just gets by me during this time of year. Up until today, the weather has been cool. Great weather to work in the yard. Weeding never goes away. On to the happy dance. Dogwood Lace is finished and at the framer. She turned out beautiful. I love the pikish fabric and the baked apple floss. A close up of the middle. I finished July Word Play. It is done on 36 ct pecanbutter fabric by LSL with the suggested floss. So cute. I found this box in my stash when I was putting the craft room together. I think that I have had this box for 15 years. No kidding. It is a little beat up. It was time to do something with it. I found this design that will fit perfectly. The fabric is a very pale blue and the floss is SNC silk called sidewalk chalk. Hope to put it together this week end. Did some baking yesterday. These are bourbon chocolate cupcakes with strawberry butter cream frosting. S...

Some Pretty New Things.

Image
Can't believe that it's been over a week since my last post. I have done some stitching but not as much as I would have liked. I caught the dreaded summer cold. It is much better now and I need to catch up on all the things that I didn't do all week. I have some progress on Dogwood Lace and would like to finish it up this week, if possible. I still love it. It is so much prettier in person. I did manage to do an exchange piece this week. I loved how it turned out so I did one for myself and one for Cheryl. Can't show it until the end of the month. When I don't feel that great and really don't want to do anything, I tend to shop on line. Good thing I am not sick often. This is some of my new stash. Two great pieces of LSL, Penny America. Book of Days and the July small, Liberty Sewing Pouch. All wonderful designs. Then I couldn't resist some of the newest With Thy Needle designs. July Word Play, one of the cute thimble pouch designs and Strawberry Hill Desi...

Really, Where Does the Time Go?

Image
Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. I appreciate them all. Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. We were busy with a lot of yard work, which is never ending. Visiting with friends and some stitching. Sorry for the bad picture, I don't iron until the piece is finished. This is Dogwood Lace by Rosewood Manor. The fabric is 36 ct. Chantilly Cream by LSL. I am loving this piece and wish I had more time to work on it. You can clock on any of the pictures for a larger view. This is my stitching group piece. It is coming along nicely. I had The Summer Band sampler stretched and popped it into the frame I am using for all 4 seasons. I love the frame molding and it goes well with all of the seasons. I will end with a couple more shots of my Iris. They are so happy. Stella is growing and doing well. This coming weekend we are going to the shelters yearly open house for the adopted pets and their families. Hope to get some shots of her and her siblings. Until next tim...

Where Does The Week Go?

Image
First, I what to thank everyone for the great comments on my last post. I would, also, like to welcome my new followers. This week has just flown by. I have done some stitching and a lot of gardening. I finished this piece last week and forgot to post it. It is the Summer Band sampler by LHN. It will stretched and put in my in and out frame.I finished the June Word Play this week and it will be done as a door hanger. I did this piece last year and just had it framed. Really, the pictures do it no justice. The design is by PSS done on 32 ct. days gone by linen using the suggested silks. Here is a close up of the frame. I will keep this one up all the time. I just love it so. I picked this piece up today and I love it! It is already hanging in the craft room. I started this last night while watching Dancing with the Stars and I learned that I really must pay attention to the stitching. So, I started again today. The piece is Dogwood Lace by Rosewood Manor. I am doing it on 36 ct. straw...

Glad To Be Back!

Image
I spent some time in Myrtle Beach visiting my dad. He recently bought a condo on the harbor and it is beautiful! The weather was great and the shopping was worth the trip. I won't bore you with any pictures because the camera didn't make the trip. I did manage a stop at In Stitches in Alexandria, VA. I bought a lot of fabric. They have a wonderful variety. I found some great charts that had to make the trip back to MA with me. If you have never been to In Stitches and happen to be in the area, they are a must stop. The store is wonderful and the staff is so helpful. Also spent some time in NY on Long Island visiting some friends and family. It was a really nice vacation. On the stitching front, I finished my letter B. I love how it turned out. I stopped at the framers today and picked up 2 pieces. The first is a small piece from LHN called summer sampler. The frame is a beautiful red color. Sorry about the dark pics. I picked up a PSS piece but will show it next time. I need t...

So Many Celebrations!

Image
I was so pleased to have won this beautiful pillow from Sharon at itsdaffycat.blogspot It now lives in my craft room happily on my wicker rocker. Thanks so much Sharon. I picked up Zoya and Maxim from the framers today. I love the way it turned out. The colors in this piece are so beautiful. The frame is black with some gray. I think that it makes Zoya a little prettier. I went to Celebrations in New Hampshire this past week with 3 of my friends from our Wednesday stitching group. Dottie and Phyllis are in the above picture and Diane is in the pic below. The empty chair next to Diane is where I spent a great deal of time. We had the best time. Stitch, shop and eat was our motto. We did it all very well. lol They had the best booth of antique lace and buttons. This what I purchased. Aren't those little flowers the best? A few charts I couldn't live with out. This design is wonderful. When the pincushion is finished it will be added to the top of the wonderful wooden thread...
