I am Back!

Image
It's been really busy around here for the last month or so. Some stitching has got done but not as much as I would like. I did 6 Halloween ornaments which I will show you after the have been finished. I am sending them to my blogging buddy Vonna to finish. She will do them do them a lot more justice than I would. I did pick up 2 pieces from my framer. Please excuse the photo of the first piece. The glare from the glass was terrible. You can click on any of the pictures for a larger view. I had this piece matted because I wanted it to appear bigger than it is and I really love the frame. I love Ghoul and the frame is one I have used many times. Where have I been? Here is a clue. I took a really large boat and went to Bermuda. During a hurricane. The storm was of no issue to the boat or to Bermuda. We got there one day after the storm and you would never know that a storm blew by. I love the pastel homes and businesses. The people are friendly and the shopping was wonderful. Look...

A Little More Fall Stitching.

I hope all of you in the US had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. Mine was just how I wanted it to be. Quiet! The weather was perfect. Did some errands, lots of stitching, walked with Stella, did some yard work and had turkey burgers. Just about a perfect holiday. I finished Ghoul by PSS. Love it. Hope to find a frame in my stash for it. Next up is Turkey Love by PSS. Have I mentioned how much I enjoy stitching Paulette's designs? I used 32 ct v. examplar LSL and the suggested NPI and Belle Soie silk. The silks are beautiful. This one will go to the framer. I think that I want to mat this one. Cheryl and I have been thrifting a few times during the summer months. The clear frog came with the bottom as a set. The glass is etched in a floral design. Very nice. The little brown frog is very different. This green dish is so beautiful. The picture does it no justice. There is a beautiful design in the glass. I couldn't pass up this sugar and creamer. The color and design is so pretty...

Halloween Anyone?

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments. They mean a lot to me. I see I have some new followers, welcome. I hope I can keep your interest. I wanted cooler weather and we were blessed here in Southern Massachusetts. The weather has been wonderful. It has kept me stitching Halloween designs. First up is Hilda's Alphabet Brew by WTN&T. I used 32 ct cream fabric and will finish it into a pillow. I did buy some of the ticking fabric. Please excuse the wrinkles. I am currently working on Ghoul by PPS. I really love Paulette's designs. The fabric is 32 ct. V. Meadow Rue by LSL. The color is darker than the picture shows and I am using the called for NPI's. Isn't the angel just the best? So pretty. I picked up Autumn on Marigold Lane by Pineberry Lane from the framers today. I am crazy about this finish. I was so excited about how it turned out that I drove to Cheryl's house to show her. It worked out for me because we ended up going to lunch. Great cross...

Long Overdue!

My summer has been so full this year and that is not normal for me. First up is some stitching. I finished Itty Bitty and I really like it. I haven't found a frame yet for it. I finished Lk Autumn Alphabet. It was a quick stitch. I am in a fall kinds mood. I also did LHN Autumn Band Sampler and PSS Halloweenies. I will show these on my next post because Halloweenies is getting framed and the band sampler is getting stretched. Now on to some of what has kept me busy. Cheryl and I have hit alot of antique and thrift stores. I have found some really great stuff. These are some of my favs. I was having a green day. Love the turtle frog, the small bowl and pitcher are in perfect condition and know live in my upstairs bathroom, the egg cup is holding the smallest frog I've ever seen. It's 1 & 1/2 inches across. So cute. I just love this old silverware carrier. I found some yarn quills with the tread still on them, a shuttle with the bobbin in it, some wooden spools with anti...

Where Does The Time Go?

I can't believe that has been 3 weeks since my last post. Things have been crazy busy around here. I did the patriot exchange and should have posted a while ago. Nataly received my name and did she spoil me. Nataly is a friend of mine. We are in the same stitching group on Wednesday's and I was thrilled to receive something she stitched. The biscornu is stunning. The back is just a pretty as the front. She knew that I did not have one because my eye sight isn't good enough to do the finishing. Besides the fabric and the trims, the star, the pattern, a beautiful red candle holder that she uses as an ort container and buttons, she made me some of her great counting pins. The are done in red white and blue and they were mounted on a felt star. Awesome! I can't thank you enough, my friend. This is what I sent to Lynda. She said that she enjoyed the package. I know that I had a great time putting it together. I will be back in a couple of days to show the stitching and th...

Ititty Bitty

I hope everyone in the US had a great 4th of July. Mine was quiet, just the way we wanted it. A cookout and a lot of stitching. Please excuse the picture. My neighbor is mowing his grass near my patio and I don't want to get dirt on it. It is a fun stitch. The silks are wonderful! The colors are beautiful. The weather is going to be in the 90's this week-end (cooler than most of you ) so I see time in the house with the A/C. I did put this little design in a box that I had. The fabric is a light blue color, not the white that the picture shows. Cheryl and I did some thrifting a couple of weeks ago. I found this darling sewing case for $20.00. I will be painting it when the weather isn't so humid. Haven't decided on the color yet. I love the shelf inside for spools of thread. So cute. The blue frog and the green frog are ceramic. These I found with Cheryl. The one with the pansies, I found in my basement while I was looking for some decorations. I bought this many yea...

A Finish, Some Framing and a Win.

I picked up Dogwood lace from my framer and I love it. The frame is a cherry color. I would have wanted it wider but this was my only option. You can click on any of the photo's for a larger view. Next up is a small patriotic design by Chessie and Me. I did it on 32 ct mystery fabric using the called for overdyes. The best part is that i had the frame in my stash! I am always so happy when I have a frame that actually fits a piece. The design is only 3.5 by 3.5. I really love the crackle frame. The colors go very well. I won the greatest giveaway from June at Butterfly Wings June asked what my favorite colors are and I went with pink. She sent a package of wonderful fabric and trims. Pink lace, great bows, beautiful fabric, ribbon and the best little buttons. Thank you June! I feel very blessed. This is my latest project. It's called itty-bittys by Keslyn. I saw this at Celebrations and couldn't resist it. It was designed to be stitched over one on 28ct fabric. I wanted ...
